Product Description
Bare fibre is an uninsulated 1.00mm diameter core made of PMMA (PolyMethylMethAcrylate) that carries cold light from the illuminator with no electricity or heat in the fibre cable.
Uninsulated fibre cables are used for pin point lighting in signs or star ceilings due to the main concentration of light delivered to the end of the fibre cable. Without an outer sheath, light is able to emit from its side creating a soft glow when paired with the correct light source or illuminator.
Fun to play around with lighting designers and architectural model designers can create concept models utilising the small diameter of the fibre cable and its flexibility for street lighting, building lights or mapping of towns and cities.
Depending on the application, the fibre cable ends can be left as a clean-cut finish or fitted with a fibre optic lens fitting. Lens fittings allow designers to produce different light beam angles and light diffusion effects without the need of a powered LED fitting.
Bare fibre cables can be delivered on rolls or alternatively, LightEFX can customise and prefabricate fibre cable lengths tailored to your specific projects. Call now to discuss your needs or requirements for best solution on 1300 762 299.
